The core objective is to win 3-on-3 basketball matches by scoring more points than the opposing team. Moment-to-moment play involves dribbling, passing, and shooting using the DS stylus and buttons. Use the stylus to dribble by tapping and dragging, and press the A or B button to pass or shoot. Each character has a unique special shot that can be activated by filling a meter through successful plays. A useful beginner strategy is to focus on quick passes to open teammates and using items that appear on the court, such as bananas or red shells, to disrupt opponents. In the early part of a match, focus on building your special meter. During tense moments, such as the final seconds, prioritize using your team's special shot for a high-percentage score. The challenge rhythm involves balancing offensive plays with defensive positioning to block shots and steal the ball.
