Your primary objective is to explore the isolated Biologic Space Labs station, defeat the parasitic X organisms, and uncover the truth behind a sinister conspiracy. Moment-to-moment gameplay involves running, jumping, and shooting through interconnected environments. You start with a basic Power Suit and arm cannon, but will acquire new abilities by absorbing X parasites from defeated bosses, which grant upgrades like the Morph Ball, Missiles, and enhanced beam weapons. Use the Morph Ball to access tight passages and plant bombs to destroy obstacles. Navigation is guided by an onboard computer that provides mission objectives, but you are encouraged to backtrack with new abilities to find hidden power-ups and expand the map. In tense combat situations, learn enemy patterns and use your Space Jump to evade attacks while targeting weak points. Focus on expanding your health and missile capacity early on to survive tougher encounters later. The challenge escalates as you face the SA-X, an invincible doppelgänger of Samus in her full power, which you must avoid or outsmart to progress.
