Use your flame breath to defeat enemies and melt ice, and use your charge attack to smash obstacles or defeat shielded foes. Master the glide ability to cross wide gaps, and press the hover button at the end of a glide to gain a small amount of extra height and land safely on distant platforms. In the early stages, focus on gathering gems and finding easily accessible fairies to unlock new worlds. As you progress, you will encounter Sparx levels, which shift the gameplay to a top-down shooter perspective where you control Spyro's dragonfly companion. Pay attention to Sparx's color, as it represents Spyro's health; feed him butterflies spawned from defeated creatures to keep him healthy during tense boss fights and tricky platforming sections.
