Castlevania Chronicles is a classic side-scrolling action game where you control the vampire hunter Simon Belmont. Your goal is to battle through Dracula's castle, defeating monsters and avoiding traps to reach the final confrontation with the Count. You move left and right, jump across platforms, and use your signature whip to attack enemies. You can also collect sub-weapons like holy water or axes by breaking candles, which are activated with a separate button. Timing your jumps and attacks is crucial, as your movement has some inertia and enemies often require strategic positioning to defeat safely. In the early stages, focus on learning enemy patterns and mastering the whip's range. The middle part of the game introduces more complex platforming and tougher enemies, requiring careful use of sub-weapons. During tense moments, especially boss fights, prioritize dodging attacks and striking during openings rather than rushing in. A useful beginner strategy is to always have holy water on hand, as it can stun enemies and deal damage over time, making many encounters more manageable.
