In Twisted Metal 3, your goal is to win a series of arena-based deathmatches by destroying all enemy vehicles using an array of mounted weapons and power-ups. You begin by selecting a character and their unique vehicle, each with different stats and a special weapon. Movement is controlled with the directional pad or analog stick, while face buttons fire machine guns, launch missiles, drop mines, or activate your special attack. The arena is filled with health pickups, ammunition, and temporary power-ups like homing missiles or shields. The key to survival is constant movement to avoid enemy fire while targeting opponents with your weapons. Early on, focus on learning the arena layout and collecting power-ups to build an advantage. As the match progresses, use hit-and-run tactics and environmental hazards to weaken stronger foes. In tense moments, save your special weapon for finishing blows or escaping dangerous situations.
