How to play
In Pokémon Red, your goal is to become the Pokémon League Champion by defeating the eight Gym Leaders and the Elite Four. You start by choosing one of three starter Pokémon—Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle—and then explore the Kanto region, capturing wild Pokémon using Poké Balls to build a diverse team. Combat is turn-based: you select moves from a menu to attack, defend, or use items, with type advantages (like Water beating Fire) playing a key role. Early on, focus on leveling up your team evenly and catching many species to fill your Pokédex. As you progress, manage your party's health and status conditions using items, and save your game frequently at Pokémon Centers. In tense battles, especially against Gym Leaders or rivals, plan your moves carefully, exploit type matchups, and keep healing items ready.
