How to play
Your goal is to guide Mario through the Mushroom Kingdom to rescue Princess Toadstool from Bowser. You run and jump through side-scrolling levels, defeating enemies by jumping on their heads or using power-ups. The Super Mushroom makes you grow larger, the Fire Flower lets you throw fireballs, and the Starman grants temporary invincibility. In the early game, focus on learning the timing of jumps and enemy patterns. Collect coins for extra lives and break bricks to find hidden items. The middle stages introduce more complex platforming with pits and moving platforms. Tense moments occur in castles with firebars and Hammer Bros., where careful timing is essential.
