The core objective of Disney-Pixar Toy Story Racer is to finish in first place across a variety of tracks inspired by the movies. You control a character from the Toy Story universe, using the D-pad or analog stick to steer and accelerate. Each character has a unique vehicle and a special ability that can be activated to gain an advantage, such as Buzz Lightyear's rocket boost or Woody's lasso. Collect power-ups scattered around the track to attack rivals with projectiles or create obstacles behind you. Drifting around corners by holding the brake and steer buttons helps maintain speed and build a temporary boost. The game features a championship mode where you must consistently place well to unlock new characters and courses. In the early laps, focus on learning the track layout and locating the best item boxes. During the middle of the race, use your special ability strategically to overtake opponents or defend your position. In tense final moments, save a powerful item for the last stretch to secure victory.
