In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus, you control one of the four turtles—Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, or Raphael—each with unique weapons and fighting styles. Your primary objective is to fight through side-scrolling levels, defeating Foot Clan soldiers, robotic enemies, and larger bosses. You can perform basic attacks, jump, and use special moves that consume health. The game features both single-player and cooperative multiplayer modes, allowing you to team up with a friend. As you progress, you'll need to navigate platforming sections, avoid environmental hazards, and occasionally solve simple puzzles to advance.
