Battletoads & Double Dragon is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where you choose one of five characters to fight through levels filled with enemies. In the early stages, focus on learning your character's attack range and timing to defeat enemies efficiently while avoiding their attacks. As you progress, you'll face more complex enemy patterns and environmental hazards, requiring careful positioning and use of jump kicks or throws to manage crowds. During tense moments, especially against bosses, watch for attack tells and use your special move strategically when overwhelmed. The game also includes brief vehicle-based shooting sections that break up the standard combat. The key to success is mastering the rhythm of attack and dodge, conserving health for boss fights, and utilizing cooperative play if available.
