In Mega Man 6, your goal is to guide the titular hero through side-scrolling stages, defeating enemies and avoiding hazards to reach the Robot Master at the end. You run, jump, and shoot with the Buster Cannon, and can collect power-ups to restore health or gain extra lives. Each Robot Master you defeat grants you their unique weapon, which can be used against other bosses who are weak to it, so the order you tackle stages can make a big difference. A useful beginner strategy is to start with stages where the Robot Master's weakness is known or to experiment to find advantageous matchups. The game also introduces the Rush Adaptors, which let Mega Man power up for limited bursts, like flying or dashing through obstacles. Focus on learning enemy patterns and mastering the Rush powers to navigate tricky platforming sections. In tense moments, like boss fights, keep moving and use the appropriate special weapon to deal maximum damage while avoiding attacks.
