Astro can fly freely in some stages, while others require ground-based platforming and combat. To succeed, players must manage the EX gauge, which fills as Astro damages enemies and is spent to unleash devastating screen-clearing attacks. A crucial progression mechanic is the Omega Factor: players must interact with and discover various characters from Osamu Tezuka's universe to unlock and upgrade Astro's stats, such as health, punch power, and laser strength.
