You control a soldier in a powered armor suit, navigating levels from a first-person perspective, shooting a variety of alien insects and larger boss creatures. A useful beginner strategy is to frequently switch between your different weapon types to effectively counter specific enemy weaknesses; for example, using the flamethrower against swarming smaller bugs and the rocket launcher for heavily armored targets. Pay close attention to your health and armor energy bars, and search for health packs and ammo scattered throughout the levels. The challenge rhythm is paced with intense combat encounters followed by brief exploration segments. Early in a mission, focus on learning the level layout and conserving powerful ammunition. During the middle sections, manage your resources carefully as enemy numbers increase. In tense moments, especially during boss fights, utilize your suit's jump jets for mobility to avoid attacks while targeting weak points.
