You control Musashi from a third-person perspective, exploring towns, dungeons, and fields in real-time. Your primary tools are the two legendary swords: Fusion absorbs enemy abilities, while Lumina can freeze water and manipulate objects. Combat involves simple hack-and-slash mechanics, but strategy comes from switching between swords to exploit enemy weaknesses and solve puzzles. A key mechanic is the Vitality and Fatigue system; Musashi gets tired from running and fighting and must eat food to restore energy. Early on, focus on mastering the sword-switching rhythm and learning which enemy abilities are useful to absorb. In the middle of the game, exploration and backtracking with new abilities become essential. During tense boss fights, manage your stamina carefully and use absorbed skills strategically. The day-night cycle also affects NPC availability and certain events, so plan your exploration accordingly.
