Herc's Adventures is a top-down action-adventure game for the PlayStation 1, based on Greek mythology. Players choose one of three heroes—Hercules, Atlanta, or Jason—to embark on a quest to rescue the goddess Persephone from Hades, battling monsters and solving puzzles across the ancient world.

In Herc's Adventures, your primary goal is to explore a vast world map and its many interconnected levels to find items, defeat mythological creatures, and ultimately confront Hades. You control your chosen hero from an overhead perspective, using a basic attack to fight enemies and a special attack that consumes magic. Movement is key; you'll navigate environmental hazards, push blocks to solve simple puzzles, and use items like the lyre to charm enemies or the wings to fly over obstacles. Each hero has unique strengths—Hercules is strong in melee, Atlanta excels at ranged combat with her bow, and Jason can summon Argonauts for assistance. A good beginner strategy is to thoroughly explore each area to collect health-restoring ambrosia and magic-refilling nectar, and to learn enemy patterns to avoid taking unnecessary damage. The challenge comes from managing your limited resources while tackling increasingly tough bosses like Medusa or the Minotaur. During tense moments, focus on dodging attacks and using your special moves strategically rather than rushing in.
