In this roguelike adventure, you control Isaac as he navigates a series of procedurally generated basement floors. The primary objective is to survive each floor by clearing rooms of hostile creatures and defeating a powerful boss to descend further. Movement is handled through directional inputs, while Isaac attacks by firing tears in four cardinal directions. Success depends on your ability to dodge incoming projectiles and environmental hazards while managing limited resources like hearts, keys, and bombs. As you progress, you will discover various passive and active items that dramatically alter Isaac's abilities, ranging from increased fire rate to unique weapon effects. Use bombs to destroy obstacles or find secret rooms, and save keys for treasure rooms or shops. Early in a run, focus on exploring every room to maximize your power-ups. In later stages, prioritize survival and pattern recognition against complex boss behaviors. Balancing risk and reward—such as trading health for powerful items at devil altars—is key to reaching the final depths.
