In Rambo III for the Master System, you control John Rambo through a series of side-scrolling combat missions. Your primary objective is to survive enemy encounters and complete stage goals, which often involve reaching the end of the level or defeating a boss. You move Rambo left and right, jump over obstacles, and crouch to avoid enemy fire. Your main weapons are a machine gun with unlimited ammunition and a limited supply of grenades for dealing with groups of enemies or tougher foes.
