Metal Slug Advance is a side-scrolling run-and-gun game where your objective is to survive through enemy-filled stages, defeat bosses, and rescue prisoners of war. You control a soldier who can run, jump, and shoot in eight directions. In the early stages, focus on learning enemy patterns and conserving special weapon ammo for tougher enemies and bosses. During tense moments, such as boss fights, keep moving to avoid attacks and aim for weak points. The challenge rhythm involves navigating platforming hazards while fending off constant enemy assaults.
