In Quest 64, you control Brian from a third-person perspective as you explore the overworld, towns, and dungeons. Your primary objective is to travel across Celtland, battling monsters and solving environmental puzzles to advance the story. Combat is turn-based but occurs directly on the field; when you encounter an enemy, a circular battle arena appears. You can move freely within this ring to dodge attacks or position yourself to cast spells. You have four elemental magic types—Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind—which you can level up by finding spirits throughout the world. Spells consume MP, which regenerates over time or by using items. Early on, focus on exploring thoroughly to collect spirits and increase your magic power. In tense battles, keep moving to avoid enemy spells and strike when you have an opening. The game does not feature traditional equipment; your strength comes from magic progression and strategic spell selection.
