Your goal is to guide the vampire hunter Simon Belmont through Transylvania to find and defeat Count Dracula. Unlike the first game, this sequel features an open world where you explore towns to talk with villagers for clues, purchase items, and uncover hidden secrets. You must defeat enemies to gain experience points and level up your character, increasing your health and attack power. The day-night cycle affects enemy strength and availability of certain NPCs, so plan your exploration accordingly. In the early game, focus on visiting towns to gather information and essential items like the Oak Stake and Laurel. During tense moments, use your sub-weapons wisely and retreat to safe areas if overwhelmed. The final confrontation requires all key items to be collected, so thorough exploration is essential.
