In Echoes of Time, you control a character from one of four races—Clavat, Lilty, Yuke, or Selkie—on a quest to cure a mysterious illness. The core gameplay loop involves exploring towns and dungeons in real-time, battling monsters to gain experience and loot, and solving environmental puzzles using magic and tools. Your primary objective is to progress through the story by completing quests and defeating bosses. Combat is action-based: you can attack with your equipped weapon, cast spells by combining magicite, and use items. A key mechanic is carrying a magical chalice that creates a protective bubble; staying inside it is crucial as the outside air is poisonous. In multiplayer, players must cooperate to carry the chalice together. Focus early on learning enemy attack patterns and mastering spell fusion. Later, prioritize upgrading equipment and coordinating with party members during tense boss fights, which often require specific elemental attacks and careful positioning to avoid area-of-effect attacks.
