Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero is a side-scrolling action game where you control the cryomancer Sub-Zero through levels filled with enemies, traps, and platforming challenges. Your primary objective is to complete each stage by defeating all foes and navigating environmental hazards. The moment-to-moment gameplay involves moving left and right, jumping across gaps, and using a combination of basic attacks, special moves, and fatalities to defeat enemies. You can throw ice projectiles, slide kick, and perform combos. A useful beginner strategy is to master the spacing for your ice blast to freeze enemies from a distance, then move in for a powerful strike. The challenge rhythm involves learning enemy patterns and the precise timing needed to avoid traps like spikes and falling platforms. In the early parts of a run, focus on conserving health by avoiding unnecessary damage and learning the attack patterns of basic enemies. During the middle sections, you will face more complex enemy types and need to use your special moves more strategically. In tense moments, such as boss fights, carefully dodge their attacks and wait for openings to land your most powerful combos or a fatality to finish them off.
