Deep Fear is a survival horror game where you play as John Mayor, a special forces operative investigating an underwater facility overrun by mutants. Your primary objective is to explore the claustrophobic corridors and chambers of the deep-sea base, solving environmental puzzles to progress while conserving ammunition and resources. The moment-to-moment gameplay involves careful exploration, as sudden mutant attacks can occur from vents or dark corners. You'll need to aim carefully with your limited weapons and manage your oxygen supply when navigating flooded sections. A key beginner strategy is to thoroughly search rooms for oxygen tanks, health items, and save points, as resources are scarce. The challenge rhythm alternates between tense combat encounters and puzzle-solving sequences. In the early game, focus on learning the facility layout and conserving handgun ammo. During the middle sections, you'll face tougher enemies requiring strategic use of heavier weapons. In tense moments, quick aiming and movement are crucial for survival, especially when your oxygen levels are low.
