In Legend of Mana, your primary goal is to restore the world of Fa'Diel by placing artifacts on the world map, which unlocks new locations, quests, and storylines. You control a hero of your chosen gender in real-time action combat, using weapons and special techniques called special arts. Combat involves attacking with a button press, dodging enemy attacks, and managing your spirit gauge to unleash powerful skills. Early on, focus on completing simple quests to gain experience, craft weapons at blacksmiths, and recruit pets and golems to aid you in battle. As you progress, you'll need to manage the land mana levels by placing artifacts strategically, as this affects the availability of certain events and the strength of your magic. During tense combat encounters, keep moving to avoid damage, use special arts when the spirit gauge is full, and utilize your companion's abilities to control the battlefield.
