Operation C is a side-scrolling run-and-gun action game where your goal is to fight through five stages of alien-infested terrain. You control a lone soldier armed with a standard rifle that can be upgraded by collecting power-ups dropped by certain enemies. These power-ups include the Spread Shot, which fires in multiple directions, the Laser for piercing beams, and the powerful Homing Missile. Movement is straightforward: run, jump, and shoot. You must navigate platforms, avoid enemy fire and environmental hazards, and defeat bosses at the end of each stage. A key strategy is to memorize enemy patterns and boss attack sequences. In the early stages, focus on acquiring and keeping a powerful weapon like the Spread Shot. During tense moments, especially boss fights, keep your distance when possible and prioritize dodging over dealing damage. The challenge comes from the limited screen space on the Game Boy and the aggressive enemy placements, requiring quick reflexes and careful shot placement to survive.
