Urban Champion is a one-on-one fighting game where the goal is to knock your opponent into an open manhole at the edge of the screen. You control a fighter who can move left and right, throw punches, and occasionally jump. The core gameplay involves timing your punches to hit the opponent while avoiding their attacks. A successful punch will cause the opponent to stagger backward. If you can land multiple hits and push them to the edge of the screen, they will fall into the manhole and you will win the round. The game is played over multiple rounds, and the first player to win three rounds is the victor. Sometimes, a flowerpot will be dropped from a window above, so you must also be aware of hazards from above. In the early part of a match, focus on landing safe jabs to test your opponent's timing. As the fight progresses, try to corner your opponent and use a combination of punches to push them toward the manhole. In tense moments when you are near the edge, defensive positioning and well-timed counter-punches are key to survival.
