The core objective is to guide Kirby through vibrant, side-scrolling levels, inhaling enemies to copy their abilities and using the Nintendo DS touch screen to manage collected power-ups and items. As you progress, you'll navigate platforming challenges, defeat enemies by inhaling and spitting them back or using a copied power like Sword or Fire, and uncover secrets hidden in blocks and barrels. The touch screen acts as Kirby's stomach, allowing you to store and combine abilities or use items like health restoratives by dragging them to the main screen. A useful beginner strategy is to experiment with ability combinations to discover powerful new attacks, and to frequently check the bottom screen for useful items. The challenge rhythm involves platforming through themed worlds, battling mid-bosses, and facing off against the Squeak Squad members at the end of each world. In the early game, focus on mastering Kirby's basic moves and copying a versatile ability. During tense moments, such as boss fights, prioritize dodging attacks and using your most effective copied power to exploit weaknesses.
